My daughter and I stop here every year on our trip from South Carolina to visit King's Island and Cedar Point. We are totally hooked on Smokey Bear's and we look forward to it so much. Everything we've tried has been on point, but the brisket is some next level stuff. And I really love 3 of their sauces - regular, spicy sweet, and carolina tang. Everyone is always friendly and the service is lightning fast. We're always trying to be efficient with our stops and it's just 2 lights off of the interstate exit and easy to get in and out of quickly. And the quality of the food is so much better than going to a chain restaurant or fast food place. We're really grateful for having found them years ago and we love the memories that are made every trip as the nav counts down the miles left to arrive at Smokey Bear's.
The waitress was great answering questions! The food was amazing! The brisket was melt in your mouth!!!!! The Jailbird (pulled chicken) was huge and such amazing flavor!!! The Jailbreaker (pulled pork). Looked fantastic nobody got it aty table but we saw it from others and they said it was great! The baked beans and okra were amazing! This is a do over. Oh my goodness, the best restaurant I have ever ate at and I'm not exaggerating. You definitely gotta try this place. Amazing food, and great service.
We have had bbq in many states, but I must give credit where credit is due. This place rocks. My husband and I ordered the 2 meat sampler but ordered different meats to experience most of the meats. My brother in law came with and ordered the same, and we got to try every meat but the grilled chicken. The smoke is on point, and the sauces were just as good. Give Smokey Bears a try, and you will be back for more. I know we will.
A small build that feels like to would have the ability to grow so much bigger. I had fried pickles chips the the baby back ribs. The ribs were perfect fall off the bone and the sauce was very good as well. The pickle chips on the other hand were to die for! I'm not sure the seasoning they use in their batter, but between that and the dill ranch they were the best thing I had hands down. It's too bad I'm just visiting for the week because I would absolutely come back time and time again just for the pickles!
Stopped here while on a road trip from SC to Chicago. This place is a GEM!!!! We got the sampler platter with brisket, ribs,and pork and the sweet carolina sandwich. Everything was delicious and the staff were super friendly. I definitely recommend coming here!
Smokey Bears has always been a favorite in our house. Especially now that it’s the only restaurant nearby I can have a fully gluten free meal and not feel like I’m missing out. They even offer house made gluten free croutons!!! I have celiac and they do have a shared fryer, but I haven’t had any issues. Not all items are fried so they still have a very comprehensive celiac safe menu. Great food, wonderful staff. Edited to add- sauces are incredible, best ranch dressing ever- get a bottle to take home too!!
Driving through Kentucky and decided to stop in for some good eats. May I say this place DID NOT DISAPPOINT! This place is amazing! I got the pulled pork pig tators with sweet bbq sauce and the jalapenos, it was the perfect balance of spicy and sweet. My boyfriend got the 1/2 rack baby back rib dinner with fries and garlic bread. He LOVED his meal aswell. They also have a gluten free menu if you require that.
